The Comanche Curve

Business in the age of SI, and the narrow window to cross into it.

The Comanche rose to dominance on one superior technology, the horse, and lost everything to the next one inside a single generation. The note puts capability on one axis and time on the other to show why the frontier lifting away is more dangerous than any direct threat, and why Quanah Parker, who crossed into the new world rather than resisting it, is the only useful model. The window to cross does not open and close. It recedes while you run toward it.

Move before you run out of bench.

Open letter to Indiana's state and federal leaders on AI

A call to action for a state-level coalition on artificial intelligence.

Written to both U.S. senators, all nine members of Indiana's congressional delegation, the governor, and the editor of the Indianapolis Star. It argues the real risk is not that AI turns against us but that we sleepwalk past it, and sets out six specific exposures: loss of control over data, security and fraud, educational impact, corporate dominance and economic disparity, workforce displacement, and the future of education and work. It closes by urging a coalition across business, academia, and government.

The time for awareness has passed. What we need now is decisive, strategic leadership.
